During the Super Bowl on Sunday there was a brief trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, but now Lucasfilm has released the full Solo: A Star Wars Story Official Teaser Trailer. Compared with the brief trailer, this one gives far more insight into the plot of the film and Han Solo’s origin story. It also previews some intense action scenes, including a furious landspeeder chase and a crazy dogfight between the Millenium Falcon and Tie Fighters through enormous sprawling alien tentacles.

Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Emilia Clarke as Qi’Ra, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett, and Thandie Newton as Val. Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released in theaters on May 25, 2018.
There are numerous signs that the movie is a mess. Most important is that during production the original directors (Phil Lord and Christopher Miller) were fired and replaced by Ron Howard, resulting in months of reshoots. Recently, they apparently had to do even more reshoots. Reportedly, Alden Ehrenreic’s performance as Han Solo was so disappointing that they had to bring in an acting coach. (No matter the actor playing the young Han Solo, Harrison Ford leaves some mighty big boots to fill.) There are rumors that the script was “unworkable” and that Disney is preparing for the movie to tank.
So far, the comments on this trailer on YouTube are very negative, with many people being disappointed. Many say the movie lacks a Star Wars feel, and some even say they don’t want to see the film after watching the trailer. What’s your opinion? Please share in the comments section below.
