Today Blumhouse released the UPGRADE Overkill Red Band Trailer for their sci-fi action horror film that will be released on June 1, 2018. Before watching it, note that this is a red band trailer, not a green band trailer, and they even label it as “overkill.” Needless to say, this UPGRADE trailer has some graphic violence and bloody gore, so if you’re not in the mood for that skip to the green band trailer at the end of this article.
(Green Band trailers are called that because of the all green background title card before the trailer, and are typically the ones shown before movies at the theater. There are limited to the violence, foul language, and sexual content of these trailers to make them appropriate for audiences. Red Band trailers don’t have such restrictions, and may have extreme violence and objectionable words and imagery.)
UPGRADE is from the creator of Saw and Insidious and the producers of Get Out and The Purge. It is set in the near future and is about a paralyzed man that is implanted with an experimental chip that turns him into a superhuman fighter. He uses his new abilities to deliver relentless retribution against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.

UPGRADE is a thrilling and hyper violent vision of the future from the producers of GET OUT and THE PURGE, and the creator of SAW and INSIDIOUS.
After his wife is killed during a brutal mugging that also leaves him paralyzed, Grey Trace (Logan Marshall-Green, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, PROMETHEUS) is approached by a billionaire inventor with an experimental cure that will “upgrade” his body. The cure–an Artificial Intelligence implant called STEM–gives Grey physical abilities beyond anything experienced, and the ability to relentlessly claim vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.
If you haven’t seen it yet, the UPGRADE Green Band trailer is longer and gives a bit more of the story. Watch the UPGRADE Official Green Band Trailer from BH Tilt:
Not Man. Not Machine. More. From Leigh Whannell, visionary creator of SAW and INSIDIOUS, UPGRADE is in theaters June 1.
