Tokyoflash Kisai Rogue Touch Review

Tokyoflash Kisai Rogue Touch Watch

We’ve posted about a lot of incredible Tokyoflash Watches over the years, including some of my personal favorites like the Round Trip, Infection, Sensai, Light Speed, and Satellite watches. Just a couple weeks ago we posted about their newest masterpiece, the Rogue Touch Watch, which actually has a touch screen watch face. Since then, Tokyoflash sent us one of these unique timepieces giving us this opportunity to give this more thorough Kisai Rogue Touch Watch Review.

All watches can tell time (at least I hope so), so choosing a watch often has more to do with style than function. For a geek, what’s not to like about the innovative styling of this LED watch? The polished gunmetal bracelet is smooth and shiny, with a stunning bronze glow in the sunlight, while the display face is sleek and futuristic. Further, the LED display is available in blue, red, or green, so you can choose the color that matches your taste.

It isn’t all style though, as this watch is loaded with functionality. It displays the date and the time in two time zones, plus it has an alarm, LED backlight, always on LCD display, animation feature, and audio feedback. The touch screen capability actually makes it very easy to switch modes and change the settings. Although the watch dial looks mystifying at first glance, it is actually very easy to tell the time once you learn how.

The custom designed case & strap have a polished gunmetal surface. It’s an unusual coloring: highly polished black metal with a subtle bronze tint depending how the light catches it. It’s a beautiful finish that oozes quality.

The mineral crystal lens is slightly recessed creating a striking contrast between the screen and case.

Kisai Rogue Touch Watch Box

Since this wristwatch is really nice, and comes in a cool box, it makes a great gift idea. It is an especially good choice for the geek that seems to have everything, because being a brand new design, they won’t have it already. In fact, they’re unlikely to have any touch screen watch or any other timepiece that is anything like this one.

As we often like to do with hands on reviews, we took the picture below of the Rogue Touch with a Lego minifigure so you can easily gauge the size. Of course, since it is a watch you already know the general size…maybe we just wanted to show off our Astromech Droid mini-figure.

The touch screen display has 4 hot-zones (top, bottom, left, right) that you simply touch with your finger to change modes; time, alarm, date, light up.

Holding your finger in place for a few seconds will allow you to customise; hold your finger over the alarm zone to begin setting the alarm, hold it over the time zone to set the time. It’s intuitive, simple and fun to operate.

The Kisai Rogue Touch is available for $199 from Tokyoflash.com in your choice of green, red, or blue LCD display. Be sure to browse Tokyoflash Japan for other incredible watches.
