Luminodot HD Lite Brite Set

Luminodot HD Lite Brite from Bandai

A happy childhood isn’t complete without having played with a Lite Brite set. But for those who’ve never had a Lite Brite or can’t get enough of it, there’s a new improved Lite Brite on the market. Ahh, good things come to those who wait. Introducing the mother of all Lite Brite boards; the Luminodot HD Lite Brite Set by Bandai.

Luminodot HD Lite Brite from Bandai

  • High-luminance LED lighting
  • 12 varieties of colored pins (1600 total)
  • 8 patterned templates included (more available by free download)
  • 8 blank templates to create your own pictures
  • Size: 280x390x55mm
  • Power: 100V, 50/60Hz AC
  • Color: black

Whether it’s you or your creative kid who needs plenty of hands-on activities this summer, the Luminodot set, complete with 1600 pegs in 12 different colors, will keep you tied up for hours if not weeks.

If you haven’t a clue on how to begin making a picture, there are 8 patterned templates and more to download to help you get the hang of things. Then, when you’ve honed your Lite Brite skills and have learned how to interpret the world in dots, you can begin designing your own portraits on the blank templates.

The beauty of the Luminodot is that it uses LED lights (brighter than a traditional Lite Brite) and 9 different light patterns that make your pictures practically jump of the walls. Most illuminated, blinking home decor tends to fall into the cheesy/obnoxious category, you know like the fluorescent beer signs, the fiber optic stuff from the 80s… but certainly not the Luminodot.

The Luminodot HD Lite Brite Set is $226 at Japan Trend Shop.

Here are some more geekadelic itty bitties to play with if you’ve got time and patience: the World’s Largest Jigsaw Puzzle, Icosoku 3-D Brainteaser Puzzle, Scruble Cube and NanoBlock Micro Building Blocks sets.
