GoalZero Yeti Solar Generator Kit

GoalZero Yeti Solar Generator Kit

Generators are great items to have when the lights go out… until you run out of gas. The GoalZero Yeti Solar Generator Kit removes the worry of running out of go-go juice because it gets its power from the sun.

Two 30-watt monocrystalline solar panels, which can be connected to the unit via 8-foot-long cords, charge the generator to full capacity in 20 hours of direct sunlight, letting you power a refrigerator for up to 4 days, a television for 35 hours, or a laptop for up to 30 hours. A built-in LCD panel shows the wattage coming into and going out of the generator, as well as displaying the amount of power left in the generator’s battery.

The generator comes with two solar panels but a total of eight can be connected at once to either accelerate recharging or to provide endless power to your ereader laptop XBox refrigerator. I guess food should be a priority.

If you’re expecting the lights to go out but the sun is being shy and hiding behind clouds (or it’s night-time), you can also charge up the generator within 16 hours via AC.

The Solar Power Generator is available for $2,000 at Hammacher Schlemmer and just under $1,800 at Amazon.com and Buy.com.
