Left and Right Bookends

left and right bookends

It’s a big election year for the US. It’s funny how such a big nation has eternally been dichotomized into two major political parties. Here we are again with the donkey on the left and elephant on the right. Will they ever find common ground and stop hating each other? No, but one way the two can tolerate being in the same room together is to act as Left and Right Bookends.

Look at that teamwork! If one were out of place, the books would topple onto their sides. As polar opposites, the donkey and elephant both complete each other in a strange, yin-yang way. Big political buffs will love having this tumultuous duo posing in their office or on their bookshelves. What sort of books would stand in between them? Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” or “Decision Points” by George W. Bush? Or maybe “Going Rogue” by Sarah Palin and “40 More Years” by James Carville.

Elephant and Donkey bookends

Campaign tail. Handmade running mates rally left or right in a plush push for the election. Faux leather friends plumped with cotton/sand weight papers, herd books, free stress. Pick a side or show bipartisanship with both.

  • Handmade
  • Faux leather
  • Sand and cotton fill
  • Wipe with soft dry cloth
  • left bookend. 6.25″Wx11.75″Dx5.75″H
  • right bookend. 6.25″Wx11.75″Dx5.75″H

The leather look of the bookends gives them a beanbag appeal, each one being squeezable and cartoon-like. Each has a stocky stance, not budging in the least bit. And who knew that donkeys were taller than elephants?

The Left and Right Bookends cost $39.95 US a piece at CB2.

There’s another pair of bookends that perfectly captures what teamwork is all about. Check out the Star Wars Trash Compactor Bookends featuring Chewy and Han Solo.
