Some of us tend to get carried away with fairytales and happily-ever-afters, which is why the coverage of Prince William’s and Kate Middleton’s marriage has been the gong show it is. With Kate being as stunning as a Barbie doll, the fairytale is that much more believable. Come to think of it, Will makes a pretty decent model Ken doll as well. Hence, Mattel has decided to give the gong a good, healthy strike with the May release of the Barbie Royal Wedding Will and Kate Set.
There have been a lot of doll replicas of the royal couple, and in my opinion I’d be pretty insulted if I were Will and Kate. Who’s in charge of quality control? The Mattel replica of Will and Kate is pretty bang-on though, from their facial features down to the detail of their wedding attire. Will has this plasticky grin, and maybe the hairline is a bit generous, but the doll still resembles him.
Barbie Royal Wedding William and Kate 2-Pack Doll Gift Set:
To commemorate the first anniversary of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Barbie Collector is creating a gift set representing the couple on their wedding day. The Prince William and Kate Middleton dolls will be dressed in wedding day attire inspired by their original outfits. Dolls cannot stand alone. For the adult collector.
They shouldn’t have stopped at just making the couple. What about Harry, Prince Charles, Camilla, the Queen and Pippa? Don’t they deserve a signature doll, too? What about all the relatives with their mad hatter hats?
You can pre-order the Barbie Royal Wedding Will and Kate Set at Entertainment Earth for $107.99. Shipment is set for May 2012.
When your dolls ship, you must celebrate by having some Will and Kate Tea.
