Casio has just released a new addition to their very popular G-SHOCK line. The Casio G-SHOCK GA-1000 is based on an aviator concept, and has a face that is easier to read in challenging conditions. The face has large numerals and a digital display, making reading the time a cinch.

The Casio G-SHOCK GA-1000 provides all kinds of information at a glance. The analog hands always indicate the time, while the digital display can provide world time. The Neon Illuminator uses a LED black light to illuminate the face of the watch in different colors. This ensures that the watch will be easily readable at night. It also features a compass to figure out your bearing, and a thermometer to read the temperature. The bearing memory function allows users to display and save their intended direction, as an aid in navigation.

The ultraviolet LED offers safety corresponding to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard for Class 1M. However, an optical lens such as a magnifying glass must not be used for direct viewing of the ultraviolet light source.Casio also utilized its advanced technologies to refine the functionality of these watches to meet the requirements of pilots. The new watch is the first analog-type G-SHOCK to be equipped with twin sensors for measuring compass bearing and temperature. With just a push of the large button in the 9 o’clock position, the second hand turns and points north based on data from the built-in compass sensor. The GA-1000 boasts both the readability and functionality required in the environments where pilots operate.

The Casio G-SHOCK GA-1000 will be available soon in three different colors.
