X-Doria Defense 360º iPhone 4 Case Review

X-Doria Defense 360 iPhone 4s Case

While some people want their cell phone case to make a fashion statement, many are just looking for protection from scuffs and scratches. With this in mind, it is surprising that there aren’t more super-light and thin iPhone 4 cases out there.  We take a look a new case designed to this minimalist principle in this hands-on X-Doria Defense 360º iPhone 4 Case Review.

While some iphone cases offer Military Grade Protection and others offer another kind of Protection, most people don’t need all that. On the flip side is having no case at all. Just a step up from that is having a screen protector at least on the front and possibly on both sides as with the Invisible Shield. One level up from that is the X-Doria Defense 360º, a tough polycarbonate case that covers the front, sides, and back of your iPhone 4/4s. Yet like screen protectors or no protection at all, this clear case allows the beauty of your iPhone 4 to shine through.

X-Doria Defense 360 iPhone 4 Case

With the X-Doria Defense 360, you add very little weight or bulk to your iPhone. It is two pieces that simply snap on to your cell phone, giving 360 degree protection. Unlike having a screen protector on the front and back, this also offers side protection, to keep the metal from getting scuffed. Even though this polycarbonate shell is somewhat stiffer and thicker than a screen shield, it doesn’t hamper the iPhone’s capacitive multi-touch response.

However, because the X-Doria Defense 360º is so thin and light, I don’t think it will provide thorough drop protection. (I didn’t want to test it out on my iPhone 4.) If you might drop your phone on the pavement or other hard surfaces from 5 feet up, this case likely won’t provide adequate protection. So this protector is more suited to preventing scratches and scuffs, and not significant shock protection.

While I tested out the clear X-Doria Defense 360, it is also available in blue, pink, smoke, and orange tints. I’m guessing these colors won’t be very noticeable if you have a black iPhone, but are worth considering if yours is white.

Defense 360° provides full screen protection with full touch control. Defense 360º has an industry first, hard injected protective shield that completely covers your iPhone front, sides and back but, allows total control of iPhone’s multi-touch screen. The tough polycarbonate construction provides all around protection from scratches, marks, and other hazards.

If you’re looking for an ultra-thin and light iPhone 4/4s case that provides full screen protection, this is very worthy of your consideration, provided that you are not prone to dropping your phone on hard surfaces. X-Doria Defense 360º is available for $24.99 at Amazon.com. You can also buy them direct from X-Doria.com for $29.99, where the full selection of colors is available.
