  1. WOW what a glaring mistake, the warp nacelles are not propulsion units they only create a field around the ship that extends space behind and shortens it in front. The impulse deck is used to propel the ship though the warped space. Without the impulse drive as propulsion the nacelles would be of little use.

    • Actually Brian in the original series the warp nacelles did have impulse units at the rear. They weren’t removed as you describe until later. Also even in your description they are still technically part of the propulsion system.

      It’s a bigger mistake t put the impulse “power unit” in the secondary hull.
