Everyone knows those books that teach kids the alphabet by associating each letter with a word and picture. K is for Knifeball: An Alphabet of Terrible Advice is like those, but it is filled with bad ideas and dangerous advice. For example, “U is for undies. They cover your stuff. Wash them or don’t. Mostly clean’s clean enough.” Obviously this book is not for children, but it is great fun for adults. The humorous illustrations, done in the style common in kids books, greatly add to the fun.
From the authors (Jory John and Avery Monsen) of the breakout bestseller “All my friends are dead” and in the humorous vein of “Go the F**k to Sleep” comes a laugh-out-loud collection of bad advice that turns the children’s alphabet book on its head. With plenty of playfully disastrous choices lurking around every corner, this compendium of black humor may be terrible for actual children, but it’s perfect for the common-senseless child in all adults.
