Eton Axis Emergency Radio

Eton ARCPT300W Emergency Radio

I know things like this Eton Axis Emergency Radio aren’t the coolest device and nobody wants to think about them; until of course you need one!  Recent power outages in the States and other disasters around the world made me think it would be a pretty good idea to have one handy; so I choose one that had some cool features.  This Eton emergency radio has an aluminum handle with internal metal gears that provides efficient cranking power, digital tuner with AM, FM, and seven NOAA Weather Bands (with alerts), USB charging port for all your USB devices, LED flashlight with flashing red warning beacon, clock with alarm, a headphone jack and weather-resistant plastic body.

Eton ARCPT300W Weather Resistant Emergency Radio

Available with either black or white weather resistant housings, these emergency radios can be very handy.  Just the other day, we lost power for about 10 hours and my cell phone was almost dead and I was looking for a quick and easy way to charge it.  The USB charging port would have been perfect.  Just give the radio a few cranks with its aluminum handle and the juice will start flowing.  According to individual tests, with just one minute of cranking, this radio stayed powered on for 65 minutes; pretty impressive considering other models lasted less than 10 minutes in the same test.
