They make a good choice for kids, as you would rightfully be hesitant to trust a 4 year old with your expensive iPad or Android tablet. A LeapPad costs much less, is easier for little children to operate, and I believe is much less fragile as well, plus it’s a way to get them to stop asking for your iPad.
Yet what is most important for any platform is the software that’s available. LeapPad has many great titles available, and The Magic School Bus: Oceans is one of these. This title is perfect for teaching children around the ages of 5 through 8 all about the ocean. With seven games to play, it helps children learn to identify over 100 different sea animals, how they survive in the ocean, and facts about the ocean and ocean life.
