Metal Detector R/C Car

The London Science Museum has taken a new approach to the good ‘ol art of metal detecting by adding the technology to a radio controlled car.
This colourful little piece of technology has chunky off-road tyres and a metal detector underneath so you can seek your fortune in rough terrain.
Features:
- Find lost or hidden metal objects
- Beeps and lights up when you find metallic objects
- Learn about metal detecting as you play

The Metal Detector R/C Car measures 230(L) x 270(W) x 110(H) mm and is available for £39.99 (about $83 USD) over at the Drinkstuff website.

[...] This remote-controlled (R/C) car is equipped with a metal detector that will beep when in proximity of metallic objects. It’s probably not the most efficient treasure-hunter tool, but if you are not going to a fortune, you might as well have fun instead. It might be a good beach toy, although I don’t know if it is sand-friendly. It is probably not water-resistant either… $80 at drinkstuff, via geekalerts. [...]

Include a way to retrieve said medal objects and I’m sold!
Maybe a laser or two for good measure. :D

This seems like a fun toy or a great gag gift, door prize etc.., for someone that metal detects for a hobby.
