One complaint I have about the iPod or iPhone is that the games aren’t really engaging. I don’t mean in the virtual sense, because they’re definitely more than engaging there. There are a lot of accessories that try to change this fact, however, like the iCade Core Arcade Styled Gaming Controller.
But they’re all still geared towards virtual gaming. The TheO Smart Ball, however, isn’t.
Basically, TheO is a foam ball with a cutout, where the person’s device is to be inserted. And from there, the fun begins. Loads of compatible apps can be created; for example, when you want to bowl, you can just bowl with your iPhone and the TheO. I’m sure you’ll be able to figure out how it’s all going to work out in your head.
The TheO Smart Ball is part of a movement by developer Physical Apps to create a new framework for app creation. It’s currently on display at the American International Toy Fair, and already, three games have already been created for it.
