Wells brought The Time Machine into the world in 1895 and then faked his death in 1946 so he could travel through time on the time machine he really built. Hey! You don’t know if that might be true.
Would Doctor Who and Back to the Future exist without Wells’ classic book? We’ll never know but it’s safe to say he’s probably one of the first to give science fiction fans their first taste of time travel adventure.
