Nothing to plug in. No batteries to replace. Tons of fun whether you love the guy or hate him. The Nicolas Cage Adventure Set is just one of those sources of entertainment that you can’t go wrong with. It even has a hint of nostalgia to it.
Remember those old Colorforms play sets you used to play with when you were a kid? After 60 years, the company is still around, and artist Brandon Bird apparently really loved his Colorforms because he created his own version… and then he made it awesome by including Nic Cage.
A double-sided 8.5 x 11 inch play background lets you choose to either put Nic on a tropical island or in a haunted castle, and a 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of nine vinyl cling stickers let you create a variety of scenes, although I’d love to see a few more full-body poses just to add to the lunacy. The stickers consist of:
- 3 full-body Nicolas Cages
- battle axe
- skateboard
- ice cream cone
- scary ghost
- parrot
- space helmet with Nicholas Cage’s head inside it.
There’s some conflicting info on the website as to the status of the Nicolas Cage Adventure Set. One section says the set is sold out, with a return planned for mid-2014 (basically now), and another section says sets are back in stock and ready to ship, but there’s no active ‘Buy’ button. The set only costs $12 at BrandonBird.com, so if nothing else, drop the artist an email and tell him you’d like to throw a little money his way in exchange for Nic Cage x 3.
