Warner Brothers just dropped the Pokémon Detective Pikachu Trailer #2, and it features lots of footage of the wise-cracking talking detective Pikachu, voiced by Ryan Reynolds. It will be released in theaters on May 10, 2019. Also check out the previous trailers.

This just doesn’t seem right at all. It doesn’t fit. It makes my brain hurt trying to figure it out.
I love Ryan Reynolds and I love Deadpool, but his voice just doesn’t work here. Perhaps if you never saw Deadpool and didn’t recognize his voice it would work better, but to me it just doesn’t feel like the Pikachu is talking.
