The Rocketeer and Betty Statue features a vintage superhero who isn’t really vintage.
Created in 1982 as a homage to the Saturday matinee serial heroes from the 1930s to the 1950, the Rocketeer is Cliff Secord, a stunt pilot who stumbles across an experimental jet pack and eventually becomes a superhero, battling Nazis and saving his sweetheart, Betty, whenever she needs a helping hand.
Standing almost 14-inches tall, the polystone statue features the Rocketeer and Betty blasting off into the sky… and no, it’s not an accident that Betty sort of looks like Betty Page. The glamour pinup model was the inspiration for Cliff’s girlfriend.
