USB VCR Converter by Ion

USB VCR Converter

This video player from Ion allows you to easily convert your old VHS recordings into digital files. Simply put in a tape, press play and leave the rest to the USB-friendly machine.

It doesn’t matter if you want to watch reinvigorated recordings on your computer, iPod, PSP or DVD because the included conversion software caters for stacks of formats.

As well as its incredible ability to amalgamate declining technology with cutting edge jiggery-pokery, the USB VCR Converter can be used as a regular VCR. Just plug it into your telly’s scart socket.

The USB VCR Converter is expected to arrive June 1, 2008 and can now be pre-ordered from the Firebox.com website for £149.95 (about $297 USD).

  1. wouldnt it be just as easy to get one of the 49.95 video capture programs for your computer that have the breakout box that plugs into your usb… and has i/o rca and svhs and audio. it comes with a built in tv tuner and all kinds of stuff…capture from a video camera…picture in picture…dvr….all kinds of useful stuff but its about 200$ cheaper… and you arent buying an outdated technology, just to copy video tapes…and to be eventually thrown away… its a useless piece of trash for people who are too stupid to know there is a better way.

  2. Not bad, but I think Sothink Video Converter is a better choice.

It supports almost all popular video formats, and can convert videos to iPod, PSP, Zune, 3G mobile videos directly. It’s easy to use, yet powerful!

  3. Would something like this work with Australian video tapes?

I’ve been looking for something like this for a little while as I believe it’s the best way to convert my video tapes to DVD.
