Tokyoflash Kisai 3D Unlimited LCD Watch Review

Kisai 3D Unlimited LCD Watch

Several weeks ago we were lucky enough to get our hands on the Tokyoflash Kisai Rogue touch screen watch. Like many of the other great watches from Tokyoflash, it was impressive; so when we were contacted about reviewing the new and soon to be released Kisai 3D Unlimited Watch, we jumped at the opportunity. This mirrored LCD display watch is currently available for pre-order and is set to be delivered on October 26, 2011. With your choice of seven different color combinations, it won’t be easy to choose.

Thankfully our friends at Tokyoflash chose for us and sent us the black stainless steel watch with blue LCD face. Right from the beginning, the experience was great. The watch was delivered quickly and came professionally packaged without any damage. The Kisai 3D Unlimited was completely surrounded by foam in the Standard Tokyoflash box which itself was then placed in another cardboard box which was surrounded with bubble wrap. Rest assured you’ll be getting your watch in tip-top condition.

The watch itself is made from high quality stainless steel and you can tell by the nice weight and balance of the watch. At 120g, I found this watch to be perfect for all day wearing and the wrist band was easy to adjust for size. But to me, the real highlight of this watch was the eye-catching 3D LCD face. Not only did it impress me, but it had several friends and colleagues asking about it. The Kisai 3D Unlimited has a mirrored LCD display that is “always on” so you can easily read the time and with a press of the button, the date. For nighttime viewing, the electroluminescent backlight illuminates the display color for easy viewing.

Since this is a Tokyoflash Japan watch, it is a limited edition design that will sell out fast. Once you decide between the black or silver stainless steel adjustable straps, you then get to choose between the several LCD colors available for each.

Made of high quality polished stainless steel, Kisai 3D Unlimited has an adjustable strap making it suitable for small and large wrists. It is also a light watch design and at only 8.5mm is one of the thinnest designs available from Tokyoflash Japan. The watch uses a standard CR2016 watch battery which will last at least 12 months and can be replaced easily.

Easy to read at a glance, Kisai 3D Unlimited has an “always on” mirrored LCD display which shows the time in hours and minutes. One push of the lower button changes the display to date mode which shows month and date. The design also has an EL backlight which illuminates the display making it easier to read at night time.

Each part of Kisai 3D Unlimited has been individually custom designed and manufactured, including the case, strap and uniquely programmed LCD display. Like all watches from Tokyoflash Japan it is a limited edition design which means it is guaranteed to be an original watch that not many other people own.

  1. Just got my Kisia 3D unlimited watch yesterday. What a disappointment. Nothing more than a cheap overpriced trinket($168.00us Tax/Delivery).

Gimmicks sell and I’ll be the first to admit “way to go Tokyo Flash, you got me”. Hopefully this review will caution others.

The wristband is a heavy, clunky metal horror that you will not be able to adjust without proper tools so you’ll end up taking it to a jewelwer. (I’ve yet to do that) The clasp is cheap and probably won’t last very long, it already opens on the slightest touch as it is, and will simply have to be replaced.

The watch itself, is just a cheap watch basically a $14.00 Casio from Walmart would rival the quality of these watches. The lens fogs up, and smears easily. It looks like it will also scratch very easy as well.

When I first found Toyko Flash I was intrigued, the concept of these watches was neat and after two weeks finally decided to purchase one. If these watches which are nothing more than a novelty were priced around $20.00 to $30.00, I’d say hey have some fun with it and enjoy one.

However at $168.00, the quality simply isn’t there to justify that price. It would be like dishing out $168.00 for a Chia pet.

    So buyer beware.

    • Tokyoflash does offer a return policy and their website states: If you are not completely satisfied with the purchase you made through Tokyoflash Japan, by all means send the item(s) back for an exchange or refund. The choice is up to you. Our aim is for every customer to be 110% satisfied.

      • Regarding their return policy. First of all you have to ensure you contact them within 48 hours of delivery. The watch and I quote directly from their site:

“Please note, the item must be returned in PERFECT CONDITION, just as when you received it. If the item is damaged, scratched or if there is evidence that the item has been used, we cannot accept the return”.

“If you would like a refund, a 100% refund on the price you paid will be made less a 1,800 yen administration fee”. (Around $21.00us)

Here’s a thought how about just make a decent quality watch to begin with and not rely soley upon gimmicks to move cheap crap?

For about the same price you can easily get an Omega or Seiko watch. Not the top of the line to be sure, but average quality. Sadly Toyko Flash, is just that all about the “Flash”. The watch itself is very low quality, like the ones you’d see sold at a 7-11 by the cigarettes or nacho machine.

Bottom line, Toyko Flash has some neat idea’s for watches, that’s what attacted me to them in the first place, but the quality of the watch itself has to improve.

  2. This sounds like a total slaggier. I have this same watch and it is far better quality than what he is saying. Obviously this person is just another online geek who gets tough online slagging everything they can because they can never do it in person. The last thing I could say is Tokyoflash has cheap 7-11 watches. Piss off geek!
