The Stealth Computer Corporation has won the Control Engineering’s 2007 Engineers Choice Award for its LPC-450 small form factor computer.

Control Engineering is a Chicago based trade publication that gives only 15 awards to makers of hundreds of products covered in the publication each year. The award was officially announced February 4th, 2008 based on the 2007 year in review.

The Stealth LPC-450 Little PC utilizes Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processor technology delivering the ultimate in mini pc performance. Housed in a rugged aluminum enclosure this powerful & versatile machine measures out at 5.7(W) x 9.9(D) x 1.65(H) inches or about the size of a hard cover novel yet surpasses the performance of most desktop and notebook PCs available today.

  1. I don’t get it. Why is this so expensive? If you configure it to match a Mac Mini it’s $1725 and the mac is $599. Am I missing something here? The footprint is 14 sq. in. bigger than a mini, although it is 0.35″ thinner. Can someone (possibly better versed in SFF computers than I) explain why one would ever buy this?
