Original Batmobile at eBay

The original Batmobile from the 1989 Batman movie, staring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson, is now for sale at eBay. The starting bid is $500,000.

Five cars were built for the movie and this car is the number five car. Being that this car originally was owned by Warner Bros productions it is important to note that the buyer will have to sign a contract with them and some other legal items. If you would like to know more about this, contact me and I will give you all the details.

The car is 20 feet long and 8 feet wide. The chassis is custom built and the motor is a Chevrolet 350. There an o doors on the door. To get in you have to be able to enter through the top where the canopy opens, just like in the movie.

  • Original by it's meaning means first.

This is cool, but it isn't the original.

  • While I like the new Batman Begins tumbler(I think it was) Batmobile a lot, that one was more utility vehicle than "car". This is perhaps the coolest car type Batmobile, IMHO. But of course I would be thrilled with either one (but at that price I would be too paranoid to actuallly drive it.. too bad the one on ebay does not have the jet engine).

  • That is so cool! I wonder if I can get my wife to agree to trade our Peugeot combi to the Batmobile...

  • @ strider_mt2k: I guess that's true. :)

@ Greg: Yes, a piece of Bruce Wayne's wealth could come in handy for an auction like this.

    @ Tommy: I'm sure you can. :)

    Thanks for your comments!

  • If I had the money I would definitely buy this car. I wonder if it has automatic machine guns in it just like in the original 1989 Batman movie.
