Black & White Clock

After seeing the Black & White Clock, I can now say that this is the only true minimalist wall clock because it doesn’t even have a face. Rather, it’s just a set of four figures that light up to show the current time. No frame, no face, no muss, and no fuss. Just plain old numbers and nothing more.

You get nothing less either. The clock is a concept and the designers are working on a way to produce the clock commercially without passing on the high cost of OLED screens and accumulators to the consumer.

Black and White Numbers Only Clock

Each figure has self-contained power supply and independent control, it can be fixed to any surface autonomously. A light sensor will switch the clock to an invert mode: the figures are white in the dark time of day and black at daytime.

  • Size of one figure: 60 mm x 110 mm x 10mm
  • Color: translucent white
  • Materials: polycarbonate, luminous part of figure – Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED)
  • Power-supply: lithium-ion accumulators
  • Control (choice of mode and time settings): touch-sensitive
