Wicked Audio Heist Earbuds Review

Wicked Audio Heist Earbuds

In this Wicked Audio Heist Earbuds Review we take a hands-on look at an innovative pair of in-ear headphones. What makes them different from other earbuds is that they have an extra headphone jack on the cord, allowing you to share your music (or whatever you are listening to) with anyone else that wants to plug in their own cans.

Before we look into that feature in more detail, we’ll first examine how the Wicked Audio Heist Earbuds sounds. After all, one nifty feature won’t matter if the underlying product sucks.  Fortunately in this case, the Heist earbuds rock with awesome sound quality.  I was actually shocked by how well these earbuds sounded and how much bass they cleanly delivered.  Being quite inexpensive, I wasn’t expecting the sound to be so full and clear, so it was a pleasant surprise when they delivered far above my low expectations.

(Shown below are the color options.  Our review sample of Wicked Audio Heist Earbuds were Slate and Electric Yellow, but there are two other color choices available: Black and White or Rust and Ivory.)

Now that we established the Heist buds sound great, let’s take a look at the feature that gave them their name.  Simply put, the sharing function works flawlessly.  That may sound a bit like hyperbolic praise, but really, if this feature had any faults that would be a problem.  Just plug in another pair of headphones into the Heist’s jack, and you share the sound.  I didn’t even notice any drop off in volume when other headphones get plugged in.  It really does make it easy to share your music with someone else, but I find it even more useful for sharing the audio when you’re watching a portable DVD or media player.  Sure beats each person taking one earbud!

One issue I have with Wicked Audio’s Heist earbuds is that the wires are quite thin.  Although that caused no problems during the course of the review, I don’t think they are strong enough to stand up to much abuse.  For example, if they were stuffed in your backpack under heavy textbooks, I wouldn’t recommend yanking them out by the end of the cord.

Wicked Audio Heist Earbuds are a great value and they’re available at Amazon.com.  Currently the Electric Yellow ones are only $11.61 (61% off the list price of $29.99) and they are free shipping eligible with $25 order, so they are quite a deal.  The Black & White and Rust & Ivory models are also available for a bit more.

  1. One of my friends has these and they’re awesome! I’m always forgetting my iPod, but it’s no problem because I can jack off my friend. Unless his girlfriend is jacking off him. Then I just stand around holding my headphones and watching like an idiot.
