But, did you know that it is WRONG? It says: "it’s all powered via the USB". WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! Look at the picture. The SECOND one, the one that shows the back of the clock. Down low, right in front of the right-hand port, you can just see the outline of the battery receptacle cover. I know, because I've got one of these. The clock, alarm, & thermometer are BATTERY powered. It uses 2 SR44, or equivalent, batteries. The red LED in-use indicator, & the clock backlight ARE "powered via the USB". I like mine fine. It shows the temperature, at my desk. I got mine at Big Lots, where it was much cheaper. I guess that's where the Discovery Channel unloaded their "excess inventory". Hey, I KNOW that this review is REALLY old.
But, did you know that it is WRONG?

Look at the picture.
The SECOND one, the one that shows the back of the clock.
Down low, right in front of the right-hand port,
you can just see the outline of the battery receptacle cover.
I know, because I’ve got one of these.
The clock, alarm, & thermometer are BATTERY powered.
It uses 2 SR44, or equivalent, batteries.
The red LED in-use indicator,
& the clock backlight ARE “powered via the USB”.

I like mine fine. It shows the temperature, at my desk.
I got mine at Big Lots, where it was much cheaper.
