The Illuminated Flexible Skateboard

The Illuminated Flexible Skateboard

We’ve seen cars with ground effects and bike wheels with LED lights, so now it’s the skateboard’s turn to shine. Get set to light up the ramps and sidewalks with the Illuminated Flexible Skateboard.

Named among the top 25 Toys of the Year by Parenting Magazine, this is the skateboard that illuminates its responsive translucent deck such that at night it looks like the rider is hovering in mid-air. Forty-six red LEDs embedded in the board’s underside infuse the entire deck with a preternatural glow. The deck is made of clear polycarbonate for a smooth ride that is easy for the novice to master while being worthy of expert-level shredding. The material’s flexibility provides a unique pressure response when pushing off or maneuvering, without unwanted “spring back” that would make for a wobbly ride. Instead, the polycarbonate absorbs vibration and softens out sidewalk gaps with ease. With or without the glowing red LEDs turned on, the clear deck allows riders to watch their feet glide over the pavement. The gently beveled board rails allow a better sense of the deck edge during tricks. Includes two 9-volt rechargeable batteries and AC recharger. Ages 14 and up. 5″ H x 10″ W x 29″ L. (8 lbs.)

Everything’s better when you add LED lights. (Except right now, it’s really time to take down the Christmas lights.) Not only does this skateboard look cool from morning, noon, till night, it also gives you one more reason stay out longer. Like bikers, skaters are often unseen and unnoticed by drivers after the sun goes down. Skating on the illuminated plank only increases your chances of being seen at night. And admit it, you like being seen.
