Wind-Up Keychain LED Torch

There’s no stopping the steady flow of hand-crank powered gadgets. And why would anyone want to stop that, it’s fun and good for the environment.

The product name of the Wind-Up Keychain LED Torch ($8) pretty much says what it’s all about. Unfortunately, there’s no information about how many minutes of power XX minutes of cranking will give you.

Anyway, it looks like handy little tool to bring along in the camping backpack.

When we saw the Orla Kiely radio, who would have thought it would only take another month until the next hand-crank powered radio with a built-in flashlight should show up?

The battery-free and eco-friendly Fun Radio-Nightlight ($30) comes with AM/FM radio, flashlight, and a light cap to create a soft bright nightlight.

1 minute of cranking will give you 20 minutes of radio or 40 minutes of light.
