Here’s the ultimate solution if you’re still having trouble getting the tree up in time after having tried the Last Minute Christmas Tree.

This DIY device projects an image of a Christmas tree, up to five feet tall depending on how far away you place the unit, onto your wall.

It uses three LED’s, the green light stays on and forms the image of the tree. The Red and White LED’s flash on and off randomly like lights on a real tree would. The flashing is controlled my a Picaxe 08M micro. The unit is powered by a 9v battery regulated with a 78L05. The body of the unit is made from a plastic pipe the ends are cut out of thin plywood.

National Console Support, Inc. has announced a neat low-budget alternative to that $4,000 Artoo projector you might have read about earlier.

This projector will light up your room with images of the Death Star, an X-wing starfighter, and the Millennium Falcon against a backdrop of stars.

The Japanese toy company Takara Tomy has now released a new product called Umine – a small projector to help you relax by displaying various images of nature onto your ceiling or wall.

Umine projects images of beach scenes, waterscapes and forest along with sounds of twittering birds, waves and other relaxing mood-setters. The 3.5mm stereo jack lets you plug in an iPod or other audio device.

The 150 x 200 x 150mm small projector weighs 600 grams, costs arount $70 and is currently only available in Japan.
