The modular dwelling system “Walking House” is capable of moving in speeds of up to 60 meters per hour and it enables persons to “live a peaceful nomadic life, moving slowly through the landscape or cityscape with minimal impact on the environment.”

It collects energy from its surroundings using solar cells and small windmills. There is a system for collecting rain water and a system for solar heated hot water. A small greenhouse unit can be added to the basic living module, to provide a substantial part of the food needed by the Inhabitants. A composting toilet system allows sewage produced by the inhabitants to be disposed of. A small wood burning stove could be added to provide CO2 neutral heating.

Here’s a fun and power saving way of adding some extra light using hand-cast resin LED bricks that can be connected in a variety of configurations.

Each brick has four connectors that let you link up to another brick either inline or offset, and twisted 90 degrees. Each package contains four bricks, but you can link as many as twenty-four of them into a single chain of high-fashion lighting.
