The Magnetix iCoaster takes construction toys to the next level by using the power of magnetism. It allows you to construct a magnetic roller coaster – complete with drops, loops and jumps.

The iCoaster combines speed, high-tech design, and magnetism into one package. As with all Magnetix toys, the basis of the iCoaster is magnetic power. The coaster’s “car” is a 15-millimeter metal ball — or “rider ball” — which is propelled along the track through magnetism.

Most of the levitation gadgets we’ve covered here at GeekAlerts have had some kind of useful functionality – a photo frame, an earth globe etc.

But the only purpose of this Cherry Wood Levitron is for you to have fun and be able to impress your friends, which is usually more than enough.

We have already covered a couple of products like this – the Electromagnetic Earth Globe and the Illuminating Electromagnetic Earth Globe.

Unfortunately, there is not much information available about this levitating globe. We’ll just have to assume it uses electro magnets, as with the others.

Judging from the product photos, it looks like the chrome ball at top features a built-in standard magnet (see picture below) to make sure the globe doesn’t fall when you cut the power.

The blue and silver earth globe hovers in midair between a black stand and a lamp-looking curved chrome bar, with the magnet ball at the end.

It measures 7.05 x 2.32 x 7.68 inches and weighs 29.7 oz. The product comes with a 110V AC adapter and is available from DealExtreme for $37.

Finally, a way to assemble IKEA furniture without missing those last important screws (unless they have forgot to put them in the package of course).
