Wesco Limited, a toy manufacturer in Cheshire, England, will later this year release release a projection alarm clock in the shape of the popular Star Wars R2-D2 character.

Artoo will be able to tell you the current time in two ways; with large red digits projected on your wall, or from the small LCD display located on the front of the can-shaped astromech droid.

The Japanese Sanrio company has just announced a portable alternative to the Uniden Hello Kitty LCD TV, for those who want to be bale to take the famous cat out on the roads.

It features a 2.4-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 320×240 pixels and a built-in speaker 0.3 watt speaker. The size is 108(W) x 99(H) x 34(D) mm.

The Portable Hello Kitty LCD TV from Sanrio is available in Japan for 21,000 Japanese yen, which is about $201 USD.

This new Hello Kitty TV, available in white and pink or black and red, was recently announced by the Japanese electronics manufacturer Uniden.

The TL19TX1 is a user friendly 19-inch LCD TV with six Hello Kitty silhouettes portrayed on the front speaker panel. It features a resolution of 1440×810 pixels, a digital TV tuner and HDMI/component interfaces.

The Hello Kitty TV, which will only be released in Japan, will cost 69,800 YEN (about $650 USD) when it hits the stores next month.

The Japanese watch importer Tokyoflash has announced two new amazing timepieces – Scramble and Progression, both from the Nekura company.

They feature full colored LEDs embedded beneath the LCD interface. A single touch of the upper button illuminates the display using the color of your choice (blue, green, cyan, red, pink or orange).

Scramble

As well as being able to select the color, the watches are equipped with a multi-color mode which rotates through all the colors, glowing brightly to highlight the current time. And they both feature “a custom engraved, self-adjusting wristband seamlessly engineered from stainless steel and finished with a neatly designed clasp.”

Today the Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America company has announced the name and details of their LaserTV (featured in the picture above).

Branded as LaserVue, the product line is the first-ever, laser-powered television that was introduced earlier this year at CES. The brand promises to deliver a range of color never before seen in home entertainment.

Additionally, Mitsubishi has released details surrounding the 2008 DLP line and the new ultra thin LCD line for 2008. Product highlights include a thinner frame and brighter picture on the DLP models and proprietary Ultra Thin Frame on the LCD HDTVs with improved sound capabilities.

The new DLP models will be available in April. Mitsubishi’s LCD HDTV models will be available beginning May. LaserVue will ship to authorized retailers Q3.

The manufacturer’s suggested value pricing range from $1,799 to $4,699 for the DLP HDTVs, and from $2,499 to $4,499 for the ultra thin frame LCD HDTVs. Keep an eye on the Mitsubishi website for more information.
