The German Sprinz company has come up with a nice modern solution if you want to heat up a room in a beautiful and simple way.

Supratherm is a free-standing glass radiator for which you can choose different themes for the panel, like the fireplace-inspired one shown above.

The radiator is available in many different sizes and can be placed on the floor or mounted on the wall (see examples below). No word on pricing.

The French Arkiane company shows a nice example of a modern fireplace using the ancient Egyptian pyramid design.

The Kephren fireplace has four tubes hidden beneath it, driving the smoke down via a horizontal tube linked to a vertical chimney. This allows you to place the fireplace just about anywhere in the room.
