This red Solar Race Car ($24) is a great example of a fun toy that doesn’t require any batteries. All it takes is some sun, which currently here in Sweden is as easy to find as an iPhone. It’s impossible, in other words.

There’s no stop to what kind of ideas people come up with when it comes to recycling stuff, which of course is a great thing.
The latest example of creating something useful from electronic waste is the Silvana Washing Machine Table ($503) from Nigel’s Eco Store. A piece of furniture made from a recycled washing machine drum.
Under the frosted glass surface sits a low energy light bulb “producing a beautiful ambient glow and casting beams of light from her polished stainless steel body.”

If you’re not one of those bling-loving computer geek neurologists, maybe this Eco Friendly Bamboo Optical Mouse ($33) will make your day instead. It will most likely feel better under your hand too.
