G-Bound is the name of this new amphibious remote-controlled car by the Japanese company CCP, a sub-brand to the large toy manufacturer Bandai.

The G-Bound was recently revealed during the popular annual Tokyo Toy Show. Thanks to its waterproof body and and the four huge inflatable tires, the car can be driven upside down and on almost any kind of surface – even on the water.

Here’s a video clip on the G-Bound in action:

The car is powered by a rechargble battery pack and the 27MHz remote control lets you move the tires forward and backward individually, making it possible to spin around on one spot. You can also go forward, and then hit back, to flip the car around.

The exact release date for the G-Bound R/C Car has not yet been conformed, but sales will start in autumn 2009 and the car will cost 12,800 YEN (about $140 USD).

With this cool DYI solar robot kit you will get six types different robots for the price of one.

This “do it yourself kit” is a great beginners introduction to solar power technology and the end result is your very own little robot. There are 6 different ways to build it, so you could have a robot dog one minute, or a boat for your bath the next. If either of those don’t do anything for you then why not build your own little plane (moving or still), windmill or solar powered car.

The good news is that you don’t need a degree in robotics to start with, or have to try and figure out which screw is A678b and how part D456 slots into F9097a. The diagrams are big and very easy to follow, there are only 25 parts and no screws are involved.

You can build:

Robotic Dog

Boat

Moving Plane

Car

Windmill

Desktop Plane

The 6 in 1 Solar Robot Kit is available from the Red5 website for £13 (about $21 USD).

The car has a remote control with an extra long range (up to 30 meters) and can control the cars movement by eyesight or via the LCD monitor. Maneuvering the car could not be simpler, the controller has sensitive left/right and forward/backward stick controls, while the controller itself is handheld and feels similar in function and use to a modern video game control pad.

A strong suction mount allows the holder to be easily installed on the inside of a windscreen and it can be set in the preferred position by adjusting the flexible goosenecks. This means that these two modern day essentials are kept accessible and available, but still secure and safe whilst on the move.

The cradles that are supplied with some sat-navs mean that they cannot easily be reached when installed in some vehicles, but the flexible goosenecks on this holder means that phones or sat-navs can be positioned within easy reach.

The Dual Gooseneck Holder will soon be available from the eXpansys UK website. Santok has set the suggested retail price to £19.99 (about $37 USD).

Put on the lightweight headset with the single LCD lens to ensure you’re the only one who views the video transmitted through your RC vehicle. Adjust the camera angle on the wireless spy car and send it on secret missions using the hand-held remote control.

Observe the journey and the destination through the small screen attached to your headset. From the safety of your spy headquarters, you’ll be able to watch what’s going on wherever your video vehicle travels, indoors and out, up to 75 feet away. Spying in the dark? No problem: Just flip on the infrared nigh-vision system, and you’ll be able to see just what your brother’s up to late at night.
