Remember the Lasonic i931 and the Cardboard MP3 Boombox speakers that we have covered earlier? A brand new silver colored model will soon be available for those who want to go the 80s ghetto blaster style with their modern day MP3 player.

The design of the speaker features a tuner, an equalizer, a set of buttons and a big volume knob at the top. At the bottom part you will find the cassette player with a standard setup of buttons. And last, but not least – and the only thing that actually works – the speakers hidden behind a black grid.

It requires 3 x AA batteries and we guess, since there’s no info available, that you’ll be able to connect the speaker to your music device using a standard 3.5mm audio plug.

The MP3 Boombox Speaker will be released on the 31st of August 2008 and can now be pre-ordered from the Play.com website for £8.99 (about $17 USD).

Since we had the Spider-Man Boombox up a couple of days ago, why not throw in a Superman alternative for those of you who prefer a flying superhero before a web slinging one.

The Superman Boombox ($40) features a CD player and an AM/FM radio – all wrapped up in a true man of steel-design with a blue shell, yellow and black details, and the classic “S” logo all over the front.

An auxiliary input jack lets you can connect the super stereo with MP3 players and other portable devices. The boombox is powered by 6 x C batteries.

Recently we have seen our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man as a Speaker Pillow and a Boombox Backpack. Throw in a CD player and a radio, mix it around, and you now have this superhero product.

The Moneual Lab company has come up with this cool looking high-end media center for retro loving techie geeks.

The boombox inspired I*magine features a full Windows Media Center PC with a 7-inch touchscreen. It comes with an Intel Core2 Duo processor, HDMI port, WiFi, and runs Vista Premium.

I*magine is voice controllable via a Bluetooth headset and can be placed horizontally on a desk, or mounted vertically on a stand.

According to Cepro, the unit is expected to ship in Q4 for about $4,999.
