Star Trek Redshirts Little Book of Doom

Life on-board a starship is rough, especially if you wear a red shirt and your name isn’t Scotty. Star Trek: Redshirt’s Little Book of Doom reveals just how brave these doomed souls are.

By the time the Next Generation came around, Picard and the gang had figured out how to neutralize the Red Shirt curse – simply make more people – including the captain and first officer – wear red. In the days of Kirk and Spock, though, if you wore a red shirt, were selected to go on a landing party, and weren’t named Scotty the chanced were high that your quarters had already been given to someone else before you even finished beaming down to the planet.

Author Robb Perlman (the same guy who brought us Fun with Kirk and Spock) created this 64-page book, modeled after the popular Little Golden Books. Colorful illustrations show just how dangerous life can be when you wear a red shirt, ranging from mixing whites and colors on laundry day to having Khan try to sell you a pet. I’m pretty sure Chekov would advise against that last idea.

Star Trek: Redshirt’s Little Book of Doom will be available July 19, 2016 but it can be pre-ordered now at Amazon.com.
