Sloth from the Goonies Mask

Sloth from the Goonies Mask

The Sloth from the Goonies was my least favorite character of all. He also makes it to my list of creepiest movie villains of all time. However, that doesn’t keep me from appreciating the amount of detail that went into the Sloth from the Goonies Mask.

Put the Sloth from the Goonies Mask on and your face will take on a complete transformation. The mask is so hideous that it makes anyone standing beside you probably look like a pageant queen (or king.) The Sloth Mask has the right amount of creativity and more than the needed creepiness that makes for a really cool getup to don for Halloween or any other costume parties.

The fake eye in the original Sloth mask that John Matuszak wore was remote-controlled. The off-camera operator would do a countdown so Matuszak could blink his real eye in sync with the robot eye. This mask does not have a remote-controlled eyeball. Nor does it come with an off-camera operator (the shipping is prohibitive). The good news is that it doesn’t take 5 hours to transform your head into Sloth’s. It takes c. 30 seconds.

100% latex. One size fits most. So it’s possible to get this full-face mask on easily, the mask does not extend down the back of the wearer’s head. We humbly suggest a jaunty pirate tricorn to complete your ensemble.

The Sloth from the Goonies Mask is available from ThinkGeek for $59.99.
