The outlets on power strips are spaced closely together so that more of them can be available on small strips. The disadvantage here is when you’re planning to use a particularly fat or wide plug, such as a charger or adapter of some sort, you’d have to clear out two to three spaces on the strip to make room for it. The good news is that an alternative to this is currently in the works: the Plug Power Dongle.
The dongle is a single outlet adapter that provides a three-prong extended outlet on the side. It’s a real space saver, too: just plug the dongle into itself to save space when it’s not in use. The Plug Power Dongle can also be used to keep the other cords in order when you’re on the go.
