With this cool DYI solar robot kit you will get six types different robots for the price of one.
This “do it yourself kit” is a great beginners introduction to solar power technology and the end result is your very own little robot. There are 6 different ways to build it, so you could have a robot dog one minute, or a boat for your bath the next. If either of those don’t do anything for you then why not build your own little plane (moving or still), windmill or solar powered car.
The good news is that you don’t need a degree in robotics to start with, or have to try and figure out which screw is A678b and how part D456 slots into F9097a. The diagrams are big and very easy to follow, there are only 25 parts and no screws are involved.

it does not work
Cute, perfect for my 4 years old kid.. Not bad for $21.
My daughter got one of these last summer at science camp. It is actually pretty cool. She liked the dog version the best. She had lots of fun putting different materials (her hair, her hand, paper, glasses, our dog, etc) in between the sun and the dog to determine if it could get enough power to “wag” its tail. I liked the spinning airplane one the best. When placed in direct sunlight it would get going VERY fast. The motor is surprisingly powerful in direct las vegas summer sun.
The only drawback is that it is not exactly easy to assemble the pieces. I struggled to get the wires wrapped into the coils on the solar panel. My 7 year old daughter could never assemble it on her own.
For $7, its a good deal. After playing with it for a bit, I would value it at about $12-$15.
