Dippin Dots Frozen Dot Maker

It looks like we no longer have to rely on those kiosks at the mall to get our Dippin’ Dots fix. Now there’s the Dippin’ Dots Frozen Dot Maker to make batches of frozen micro-dots at home.

What a surprising gift this would be for a kid who can’t seem to get enough Dippin’ Dots. This little machine of wonder gives us an inside glimpse of how the delicacy is made, and gives you the liberty to invent your own new flavor combos. Grown-ups will love making their own stash of Dippin’ Dots too when the kids go to bed. Think of the possibilities.

Make Your Own Dippin' Dots

For best results, try to locate a good ice cream recipe to yield dots that taste like the ones at the mall. One recipe that worked well with the machine was this one found on Amazon, from a customer who was successful at duplicating the taste:

Use a basic vanilla ice cream recipe, but just 8 ounces of it. This fills about 4 of the 6 dot trays. For those of you who don’t have a recipe handy:
3/4 cup to 7 ounces half-n-half or cream 4 Tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix well and pour into a Dippin’ Dots dispenser bottle (step 2 in the instruction sheet). Follow the remaining instructions as usual. Allow 4 or more hours for freezing so you and your little one aren’t getting impatient at the 2-hour mark.

Also, if you’re having flashbacks to the days when you were gleefully operating your Snoopy Sno-Cone Machine, you will be delighted to know that the contraption still exists! Can’t you still smell the sweet, cherry syrup? The hotter days are almost here, so time to start thinking of ways to cool down. Here are some other gizmos that’ll crank out deliciously cold treats: the Premium Margaritaville Blender Trio, 54″ Old Fashioned Snow Cone Cart, and the Frozen Fruit Soft Serve Processor.
