Atari Flashback Portable

The Atari Flashback Portable isn’t out yet, it’s a prototype designed by Curt Vendel. The good news is that it will be out at one point or another – so it’s not one of those “cool, too bad it’s never going to be released” kind of things that you read about every day.

You’ll be able to play classic Atari games on the 320 x 240 pixel screen. Games can be uploaded to the console via a built in USB port. 3 AAA batteries will give you 15 hours of retro gaming goosebumps.

Soo, here we are, 5 years after you loaded up this blog post and still no sign of the Atari Flashback portable hitting store shelves!! I am shocked!! lol I know the Atari Flashback 3 is selling well, so it’s very surprising for me to see that the prototype handheld still isn’t out!! Any new info you’d like to share about if / when they’ll release it? I’m searching around thenet but haven’t seen any posted release dates yet.

While this never came out. I do have the prototype hardware that Curt was using to develop this produc. So I know he really wanted it to come to the public.
