Here at GeekAlerts we love gadgets that are well designed, functional, and are a good value. We’ve shown you plenty of them and we will continue to do so with the True Utility LED TrueLite FlashStash. We’ve shown you some cool True Utility products in the past and this week we are reviewing the LED TrueLite FlashStash which came with our press pack that we received earlier this month from True Utility.
Like all the products we’ve seen from True Utility, the LED TrueLite FlashStash is well design with quality materials. It has an aircraft grade anodized aluminum body which I found to be very cool looking and also very durable…I dropped it a few times accidentally and then to also test it. The aluminum really helps with overall strength while keeping the weight down, which is very important because this is a keychain after all.
As the name suggest, you get a bright 30 lumen LED light that will last up to 75 minutes on the included four AG13 lithium batteries. While 75 minutes isn’t the longest amount of run time, you have to remember this LED light is designed to be used in emergency situations or times that require a quick light. If you need a flashlight for camping or other long durations, you might want to check out one of True Utility’s larger models like the TrueLite Maxi 3W that lasts for up to 12 hours on 3 AAA batteries.
This keychain LED light has another feature that makes it very attractive to outdoorsmen and people that like to be prepared. It has a hollow compartment in body that allows for you to stash money, waterproof matches, fishing hooks, or other small objects in a dry compartment. Yes, the TruLite FlashStash is waterproof and it has high quality neoprene sealing ‘O’ rings throughout.
Overall, I feel that the True Utility LED TrueLite FlashStash does what it is supposed to and looks really cool while doing it. Because of its affordable price, you can purchase this for yourself or as a small gift for people in the office. You never know when you are going to need a little light and it is always better to be over prepared than under prepared.
